Amy joined IOMCSA in 2013, immediately taking on the role of leading the General Practitioners Group a sub-committee that brings together Accountants working in general practice and which subsequently expanded to include Business Members.
In 2016, Amy became Deputy Chair for the Society and has continued to work with the General Practitioners and Business Members, as well as being actively involved for the Society in liaising with the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority on matters including the implementation of the Beneficial Ownership Act.
‘I am delighted to have been appointed as Chair of IOMSCA especially as I am only the second Lady Chair of the Society, which is celebrating it’s 60th year anniversary this year. I am looking forward to a busy year as the Committee continues its work on the various projects we have in the pipeline.
A significant challenge facing our sector in the Isle of Man is the skills shortage so I am keen to increase our engagement with key stakeholders such as local schools, University College Isle of Man and the Department for Enterprise in order to improve awareness of our industry and encourage more students and Manx residents into our sector.
As the Partner responsible for training at Crowe Morgan I see how rewarding our students find working towards their professional exams and how valuable an accountancy qualification is as a foundation on which to build a career.’
